Tasting notes

Chardonnay – Petit Manseng offers sensations of fresh fruit with tropical notes and hints of white and yellow flowers. This white wine with a straw yellow color is also characterized by puffs of minerality and spiciness with hints of chalk and flint. In the mouth it is fresh and easy to drink, despite being a well structured and full bodied wine.

The vine

Chardonnay is a grape originating from France, in the Burgundy area, and is used to make wine in practically all Italian regions. It is able to offer wines of marked acidity with great aging potential. Petit manseng is also a grape variety native to southern France, near the border with Spain. It is characterized by small berries clusters with a thick skin. In Italy it is mainly present in Tuscany, Lazio and Sicily. From their union we have created a unique and particular blend that releases all the potential of the terroir.

Features

The idea of putting together two French vines grown in our lands comes from the search for new and at the same time traditional flavors because the result is a fresh and mineral wine that expresses exotic but also local notes such as margherita and mimosa. It could only become our most prestigious white wine, that has also recently received the silver medal at the international competition for organic wines.

Advice

A fresh and intense blend like our Pietragavina marries Mediterranean flavors on your summer tables. We recommend it with homemade tuna, eggplant and mint, a delicious Sicilian first course, which combines some of the most typical flavors of the island (recipe here).
